I can't stop watching that Spurs/Nuggets clip - Denver in transition is tough for even good defensive teams, but there's literally a zero percent chance of Mamukashvili and Branham ever getting the collapse onto Gordon and rotation to Porter correct. If they put real NBA players next to him within the next few years, San Antonio might break an 80 DRTG with Vic on the floor.

There's a non-zero chance that Wemby just straight-up ruins the NBA, and I'm only quarter-joking

Joe Mazzulla is Coach of the Year in a very competitive year. Aside from losing I think only 16 games this season, and changing the entire energy of the Celtics, Mazzulla gets the crown for personally slapping down opposing shots after the whistle.

I had him as my Coach of the Third Quarter! I'm not sure why so many Boston fans (not you ha) still seem so down on him this year when he's demonstrated some remarkable capabilities.

I’m a Bulls fan so biased, but to me Maxey has sort of done what I expected him to do given more usage and a better coach. I was out on Coby and he’s completely proven me wrong this year. That contract is a steal.

Coby started to redeem himself in my eyes last year with some really solid defense. He's a great pick for MIP this year, although the defense has slid back some.

Maxey still got the nod because while I certainly expected him to pick up some of the Harden volume, I was really impressed with how he managed to maintain his efficiency when Embiid was healthy. Certainly, it fell off after Embiid went down, but he was the ONLY source of offense on the 76ers, so it was hard for me to penalize him too much. He's not a superstar, yet. But I think the passing jump is real, and the defense has been better, too.

But it was the toughest choice out of all of these for me.

Rudy's had a nice year, arguably the best since he ruled in Utah.

Can't argue with any of these picks (I'd probably lean toward White for MIP but Maxey has a damn good case).

I thought I was going to pick White most of the season, but when I sat down and realllllly looked at it, had to give to Maxey. No issues with White, though.

Outside of MVP, which I'm about to start really digging into, this has been one of the easiest awards seasons in memory, in my opinion. Not much controversy. It's bad for business ha, I need to work on some hot takes.
