OK, technically my Sept 17 comment was wrong. I wrote, "Atkinson is a great coach and will prove it this year, as he did with the Nets. But now he has talent. Cleveland will have the second best record in the East." I should have been braver. But, yes, Coach of the Year.
To me, awards are about results, not process. Whatever you want to say about Nico coming to him, Pelinka still negotiated well (only gave up the one draft pick) and pulled it off! Luck is part of the game, and he got lucky. As I said in the article, I do think his other moves in the offseason and onwards have paid off, too -- even Jordan Goodwin's giving them something off the deep bench.
I did really like the Rockets' trade of a couple of Nets picks for more distant Suns picks earlier in the year, although not sure he did enough else to make it into the top three unless I'm forgetting something big (Sheppard seems good but never plays...)
That said, if Rockets flame out in the first round this playoffs, I do expect a major move of some kind that could set him up for EOY next year!
Not from me. I think the KAT trade was great, but the bridges trade was risky from the get-go and hasn’t paid off yet for the price he paid.
However, I’ve said since beginning the Knicks moves were made with NEXT year in mind. If Knicks make a big run next year I’m happy to give him all his flowers. I’m definitely not willing to say he messed up yet but this was always a longer term play so I’ll wait before I judge one way or another

LoL at Pelinka. To me it's a coin flip between Beasley and Pritchard (however it pains me to say anything Celtic positive)
It's either gonna be Dyson or Cade for MIP
Sure seems like it! But I’d be a pretty garbage analyst if I went with the consensus instead of what I believe to be true ha
But I found Rob Pelinka being #1 for Nico Harrison’s stupidity very puzzling. Presti should be a lock to win that award

That’s a fair analysis
Pelinka is ridiculous. It’s Presti
Fair enough
I understand it of course. But you could say outside of obvious coups (like Davis and then Luka) his other moves have not been extraordinary 🤷🏻♂️
I guess you could also say Rafael Stone

Does Leon Rose get any consideration for the offseason moves?

Sure. Who made a bigger impact on the team: Hartenstein and Caruso, or Towns and Bridges? (As I’m typing it, I realize it’s the OKC guys lol)
Thanks! Total brain fart, I did have a different clip with Kyle Kuzma but that's Kris Murray from the Blazers.
Glad you're liking it, and appreciate all your support!
