2025-26 NBA Awards, Pt II: Most Valuable Player, Executive of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, and Clutch Player of the Year

Jokic vs. Wembanyama vs. SGA. Plus, EOY, 6MOY, and CPOY

Today, we’ve got three awards that normal people don’t care about, plus the big one. Let’s get MVP out of the way first.

(Note: Victor Wembanyama’s bruised rib, incurred last night, could jeopardize his awards eligibility; he needs to play 20+ minutes in one of the Spurs’ remaining three games to qualify. For the purposes of this article, I’m assuming he will.)

Most Valuable Player

I usually don’t have a problem picking this award, but this season really put me through the wringer for all five spots. I said early in the year that picking between SGA and Jokic is choosing between the sea and the sky. That’s changed. Now, we’re choosing between the sea, the sky, and the soil. But a choice had to be made.
