Thank you, I really enjoy this Substack and special shout out to the creative turns of phrase you always add and the embedded gifs of the plays you highlight (as opposed to embedded videos which are annoying to open). Totally agree on the level of competition so far - my personal favorite was probably the Cleveland-Miami double buzzer beater game, but there have been so many. Aside from Wemby being back from DVT, after watching the Spurs-Warriors baseball series, I have to say that I’m thankful we can still watch Steph and his cohort work their magic. It’s incredible to watch a 37 year old have the most stamina on the court and do things that don’t seem to make sense and LeBron is just coming back from injury, I’m sure he’ll bend our brains as well throughout the season.

And I appreciate all our conversations on here!

Ah man, I meant to add something about Steph and Durant still chugging away, but I forgot. Oh well.

I've enjoyed watching Toronto the couple of times I've seen them play this year. Their ceiling is limited IMO by them basically having four Robins and no Batman (although Barnes is at least a darn good Dick Grayson/Nightwing), but they've all been able to not just coexist but shine in their own ways, which I wasn't sure they'd all be able to do coming into this season.

"but they've all been able to not just coexist but shine in their own ways, which I wasn't sure they'd all be able to do coming into this season"

That's a perfect way to put it. I've found the Raptors an absolute slog to watch the last few years, so I'm glad they've emerged like this

Speaking of being thankful, I just wanted to mention that I included you in my list of bloggers that help make substack an interesting place (the common thread among my list are people who are good writers and also have a clear personality and some degree of quirkiness in their approach and that describes why your posts are always must-read for me): https://earnestnessisunderrated.substack.com/p/sunshine-blogger-awards
