KAT as the hyper talented but sometimes awkward star drafted number 1 is a good contrast with Brunson, the always under control, drafted in the second round late riser. They both have weaknesses that they’ve come to terms with as part of the larger Knick scheme during this run. In terms of the series at large, I also wonder if we’ll look back and say that the Knicks got the wings they thought they’d need to beat Boston but they were really loading up against San Antonio. Their perimeter size and length in particular poses difficult and interesting problems for him that perhaps even OKC didn’t.
Agreed. I was talking to a buddy who remarked that the Spurs had the size advantage in the OKC series but are at a size disadvantage in this one, and we're seeing why that matters.

In post game he thanked the "woman above" (his mom, RIP) for giving him a sense of calm and peace for the game. I've mocked his silly fouls and incredulous expressions afterwards. But I no longer dislike this guy. I like him. He's different in an endearing way.
And one tangent. Champagnie, as you point out, loves playing the Knicks. Hmmm. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, like his brother Justin -- who was averaging about 8 minutes a game when he came into MSG on December 28, 2024 and went 13-16 for a career high 31 points.
Thinking about the Towns era in MN, as much crap as he got nationally he was beloved. Being a vet for Ant and leading them to their best season maybe ever was magic. I don’t think it’s fair to see the Timberwolves moving KAT as buyers remorse. They got blindsided by a new CBA that made it impossible to keep him around. I would love to see him win a ring.
I think Towns’ contract was a little bit of an “eff you” from Glen to lore and Rodriguez ha, forcing them to make a hard decision early on. But every Minny fan I know has nothing but good things to say about Towns
