Great article! There was a certain game against the Jazz right after the trade deadline where the Mavs looked like the new lob city and I have been paying attention to those ever since haha. Anyways, I had no idea they led the playoffs by that much
This is awesome. Do you have an idea for how this team's lobs compare to other teams in NBA history? For example, how many lobs/game were the Clippers throwing back with CP, Blake Griffin, and DJ? The broadcast mentioned the 45 was the most in the playoffs since 2001 - is that just because we didn't have the data prior?
Unfortunately, I don't have access to that data, sorry, I only have this season's. I know leaguewide lobs are on the rise, but can't directly compare to the Lob City Clippers of yesteryear.
Just given how many more games Dallas will end up playing, though, I'm very confident that they'll end up smashing whatever the previous record was.
You deserve an award just for socializing the moniker “Lobgoblins”
It’s fantastic, isn’t it?

Yeah, same. I probably would have guessed they led everyone, but that margin was shocking!
