Loved this one and have to agree with all of these (although to be honest, Brooklyn still is kind of unwatchable a lot of the time to me). The one I want to talk about here is Lonzo Ball. It IS great to see him back at all after what he's been through. The thing with him (and LaMelo) is that so much of the start of their careers ended up being about their attention whore dad, and I think for some that taint still hangs over their heads. That, to me, is a damn shame. Appreciate these guys for who and what they are, and let Daddy Ball be forgotten like he should be.
One other thing while I'm thinking of it... boy, the decisions the Rockets need to make this offseason have gotten a lot more complicated, haven't they? (For good reasons, mostly.)
Yeah. I talked about this a bunch in the preseason, that this year was critical for Houston to figure out a pecking order on their guys, but then they sort of made that relatively moot by signing Sengun and Green to extensions (I thought they'd wait until later in the year to do so).
If anything, I think their problems are actually a little simpler (albeit not less difficult) than before: find shooting and scoring. They definitely need to do something to improve the offense, and I'm sure they'll ask around about Devin Booker and maybe Durant, since they have those Phoenix picks.
Neither Green nor Sengun should be untouchable (in offseason, it seemed plausible one or both could make an All-NBA leap, and that hasn't happened), and I don't think any team would be willing to pay what ought to be an outrageous asking price for Thompson.
If it were me, I'm shopping Green and picks around for a more consistent offensive option. Might do the same with FVV as a monster expiring contract next year if they pick up his team option, but the team also fares substantially worse without a point guard (Thompson isn't ready for that yet, and haven't seen if Sheppard is up to it).
Yeah, with Sengun, Green and FVV they have three good second or third options -- but no surefire FIRST option. Unfortunately, I think the league's seen enough this year to think that Green never will be at that level, so that'll make things more difficult if the Rockets want to move him and get a proper return. Sengun's a little frustrating, but it's harder to find someone like him than it is to find another shot-chucker two-guard.

agreed. Although the best thing that ever came from lavar was the hilarious father's day commercial lonzo did a few years ago:

OK, THAT wasn't so bad.

I remain fascinated by Houston.
