News broke Thursday morning that Cade Cunningham, who left five minutes into his last match with back spasms, was diagnosed with a partially collapsed lung.
How long in each game does a player need to play to qualify as playing in the game. What if Cade were to come back for 1m or so in 4 different games just to hit the 65 game threshold. Would that qualify him? It would be a bit fiddling with the rules but i guess Adam Silver would have troubke arguing that he’s not unable to play more. Has such a situation ever been discussed?
The player played in at least 65 regular-season games, or the player played in at least 62 regular-season games, suffered a season-ending injury and played in at least 85% of the regular-season games played by his team prior to the player suffering said injury
A player will be considered to have played in a regular-season game if he played at least 20 minutes of such game -- though he can count two games in which he fell short of 20 minutes toward the 65 if he played at least 15 minutes.
So he just missed out on that 85% of the regular season thing, so he'll need to play at least three more games of 20+ mins and two more games of 15+ mins (his 61st game doesn't count, since it was only five minutes)
That means he can return no later than Saturday, April 4th against Philly -- 16 days from now
Jenkins was pretty good in the win over the Lakers last night. 30 points on 18 shots. 8 assists vs. 2 turnovers. That's a heckuva replacement.
Love watching that guy so much.

Got it! I did not really know these details
It’s unnecessarily convoluted ha
