This was definitely the type of game that felt like it could demoralize San Antonio if they lost. Just because they fought SO hard and clearly expended so much energy.

ages of those 5 spurs: 25, 24, 22, 21, 19.

Harper's the only one I would maybe worry about since he's only in his first year of NBA conditioning and the jump from ~38 mins of CBB to 47 of NBA seems like a big one

Yep! That's hopefully why you can get away with it.

cumulative playoff minutes could be a thing. if i had to guess i'd assume it's correlated with injury likelihood for players above the age of ~26

i guess Hali had just turned 25 when he popped his achilles. so maybe not an age thing!

The game has become so fast-twitch and high-effort in the last 5-7 years that I’m not even sure you could prove much with a historical analysis. It makes sense that it’s worsewith older players, but there has to be a cumulative thing for even younger guys, too.

It was a risk worth taking, and it paid off. But it’s a risk, nonetheless!

did it pay off?? pouring one out for Harper 😔

Just brutal. You can’t prove the injury was linked to his heavy Game 1 minutes, of course, but it’s impossible not to assume they are related.

Brown sugar cinnamon is the best flavor and it's not close

It is the best non-fruit flavor, but worse than every fruit flavor.

Cherry > Strawberry > > > Wildberry ….. >> Getting hit by a truck > S’mores

Probably! You gotta go for the win on the road, I get it. But it's still just a staggering load

Not that crazy. Spurs starters are not used to playing these minutes. It was definitely a gamble by Mitch.
