This was a weird finals. The Knicks deserve all the credit in the world for their toughness and persistence, but they seemed to me to be the least dominant 4 - 1 winner I have ever seen over my many years of watching basketball. As late as the fourth quarter of game 5, not only was I sure the Spurs would win, but I was easily able to imagine them taking the next two games as well, given how well they had responded to adversity against OKC.
It is weird for a team that only won ~30% of the minutes to have won the series in five games ha, it's hard to wrap my head around that. But credit to the Knicks for consistently making every right play in the clutch (and, if we're being honest, discredit to the Spurs for the opposite).
Actually for sure in game 5, it felt like regardless of how far ahead the Spurs were, you were still confident the Knicks would win. So i get what you are saying, but it did not feel like the Knicks were only ahead in the games that little time
Honestly, apologies to Knicks fans, but as a neutral i felt the win in game 5 was pretty anti-climatic. I spent the time watching the game just itching to fast forward because i felt that regardless of what happened in the rest of the game only the last two minutes mattered and the Knicks would turn it around. I enjoyed the finals a lot less than ghe West Finals where there was real uncertainty until the end
The Western Conference Finals games were superb basketball, but I liked the fact that every Finals game came down to the wire. Even if, by Game 5, it did feel like a Knicks comeback was inevitable, it was still very impressive to watch.
